Thanks to one drunk ass hole who decided to score free beers for the night by telling the general manager that he was with the entertainment when he wasn't and then proceeding to beat the shit out of four random dudes for no good reason ... apologies go to all the Steamworks patrons who paid good money to be sent packing two hours early, to the Dirtheadz who drove all the way up from Albuquerque only to be shut down before performing, to all the real hip hop heads out there who carry the stigma of violence associated with what they love ... stay tuned ... Both acts really impressed me and we thank Def-i, Wake, GodsendSent and Logistik for performing great sets! I went a little crazy with the Strictly Underground mix tape this month ... when all said and done the world will be blessed with over two-hundred copies of this months edition. On behalf of the entire family I must apologize ... Illfluent, the fans, Steamworks, and whatever gods I pissed off enough to strike me down with such furious vengence. Everything that could have gone wrong did, but at least those of you who stuck around long enough got to see my double fists of fury style of stress management. After consuming an equilavent of a twelve pack (at least) in less than two hours I was escorted out of the building by my co-workers as I was hollering "This is MY ship! I'm going down with my ship!" Thanks to Jason Haley and Steven Selgato for putting me in my girlfriends car despite my insistance on driving myself home. At any rate ... everyone is telling me not to lose heart and so I pass this on to you ... my nonexistant readers ... this too shall pass and next month we'll be back in action! 10.5.2005 This months Undertow was pretty chill ... no breakers turned out but The Truth & Slick One did their thing, and the freestyle session was one for the books. This months champion Wes walked outta there with $20 cash, a $20 Steamworks gift certificate, and eight free beer cards ... congrats and respect to him! For the record ... in response to the fact that the battle got a little raw for the general public ... starting next month we're upping the anty in the freestyle competition.
